Merrie McNair is an impressionistic painter whose work celebrates color, light, and the beauty of the natural world. She captures the fleeting moments of everyday life—sunsets over tidal creeks, light dancing on water, and the quiet poetry found in nature. Her paintings often glow with bold, vibrant hues and rich texture , reflecting her fascination with the shifting play of light across sky, land, and sea.
With a background in interior design spanning more than 35 years, Merrie brings a keen sense of balance, composition, and atmosphere to her work. In addition to her impressionistic landscapes, she explores abstraction, allowing intuition and emotion to guide her brush. Based in Charleston, she has exhibited for 10 years at the Picolo Spoleto Art Festival, as well as a member of the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America.
