Fran Davies grew up in the suburbs of New York City, and has been drawing for as long as she can remember. Over the years, she has experimented with oils and acrylics, collage, printmaking, and photography. Her most recent work is with pastels.
After graduating with a BFA in Illustration from Syracuse University, she kept a daily sketchbook during her commute to NYC, where she rose to the level of Group Creative Director, Senior VP working on award-winning print and TV advertising campaigns that took her across the country and to Denmark, UK, and Germany. In 2018 she left the New York area, settled in Charleston and is delighted to finally be able to focus her time and energy full-time on her art.
“Art is a wonderful way to keep a visual diary of my relationship to the world around me. I love to work with texture and color, and I’m inspired by the landscape, the light, and the people of the low country. Creating art has been a lifelong passion, and I am excited to continue the journey here in South Carolina.”
