Come celebrate with us THIS FRIDAY AUGUST 4TH, 5-8PM
Join us at the gallery for fun, food, beautiful art, & music by Folksinger Mark Mason!
Folksinger/SongwriterMark Mason will be performing his latest CD “Charleston-Musical Portrait”. This CD contains 10 songs written by Mark about the history, legends and folklore of the Charleston/Lowcountry area of SC.
Mark’s love of history inspired him to put to music stories of people, places and events as a way to share Charleston’s amazing past. With the production of Rick Haynes, (Gordon Lightfoot’s Bass player), Mark has written haunting and charming melodies and lyrics depicting Charleston’s history.
Mark’s music is accompanied by Rick Haynes on Bass, Mike Heffernan, (another Lightfoot band member) on Keyboard, Warren: “Wiggy” Toll on Guitar, Harmonica, Dobro, and spoons, Mark DeCarlo on Flute and Michael DiGiorgio on banjo.
Lowcountry Artists Gallery artist Sandra Roper’s painting “View From St. Michaels to St. Philips” was chosen for the cover of the new CD.
“Well written songs that are meant to last. I especially enjoyed “Pirates of Charleston”, I can visualize pirates walking down cobblestone streets” -Gordon Lightfoot
CD’s will be available at Lowcountry Artists Gallery and on Mark’s website: www.charlestonmusicalportrait.com.
A special exhibition of 12×12 works will be on exhibit through the month of August.
From all of us here at the Lowcountry Artists Gallery, we want to thank you for your support throughout these past wonderful 35 Years!
