Kari Swanson is an artist in Charleston, South Carolina.
“I am intrigued with the areas colors, diversity, beautiful scenery and interesting people. I try to incorporate all of these images into my work.”
Kari primarily uses acrylic paint, but also likes to experiment with chalk, ink and cray-pas in her work. She uses texture and color to reflect the image and its’ movement. This creates a feeling and a mood. Kari wants to allow the viewer to see all that is present in her work and through their interpretation make a personal connection with the piece
She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago as a young artist, and continued her education later in life at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. Her studies were completed in the art program at Miami University of Ohio.
